Base layer has become part & parcel of the modern game thanks to its compression technology that has not only been proven to increase blood flow in the muscles, but also because it offers excellent additional protection from the chill.  Because most league regulations stipulate that the colour of your base layer must closely match your shirt sleeves, the Academy design comes in a choice of 14 colours. This means you're almost certainly going to find the one you need. To reduce irritation, the Academy base layer has flat stitching around the armholes. A closed collar offers further protection from the weather, while breathable fabrics ensure you don't overheat.
